Peter DeLange, MBA
CEO
CEO
Peter brings to Devicix over 18 years of research and development experience in prototyping and implementing capital equipment ventures. Before founding Devicix, Peter was Director of New Product Development at Acist Medical Systems, a cardiovascular capital equipment company. Peter managed the development organization from early-stage development to subsequent acquisition by Bracco Diagnostics. During his seven years at Acist, he was responsible for all engineering activities including Software, Electrical, Mechanical, and Disposable development. He coordinated the regulatory strategy for four 510(k) submissions using traditional, special, and abreviated 510(k) formats. Peter implemented ISO and FDA Design Control standards and was responsible for representing engineering during ISO and FDA certification and surveillance audits, and investor due diligence audits. Prior to joining Acist, Peter held various software engineering and management roles in several early stage companies including EdenTec, a subsidiary of Nellcor, Inc, and Quester Technology, Inc, Quester, an early stage semiconductor equipment company located in Freemont, Ca. Peter received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics Engineering. And he holds an MBA from the University of St. Thomas.
Devicix has assembled a team of engineers skilled in multiple disciplines and dedicated to designing and developing medical devices. The medical backgrounds of Devicix engineers include cardiovascular, orthopedics, critical care, exercise physiology, monitoring devices and knowledge of other hospital equipment.
David Lura
Vice President of Systems Engineering and Program Management
David brings 25 years of medical product development experience managing projects from concept development through to market launch. At Devicix, David is responsible for managing the program managers, electrical engineers, and software engineering staff and supporting business development. Experience developing electrical, software, mechanical, and electromechanical systems for hospital, home health care, consumer, and implant products give a unique background to assist customers develop state of the art products. He previously worked in new product development for Envoy Medical and Equitron Medical (Nelcor Puritan Bennett, Mallinckrodt, Tyco International). He is a certified PMP and received an BSEE degree from the University of Minnesota.

Andreas Pfahnl, ScD
Vice President of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering
Andreas is responsible for managing the mechanical and biomedical engineering staff at Devicix, managing a variety of medical device development projects, and supporting Devicix business development. Development projects include fixation, joint and absorbable implants, surgical instruments, disposable and reusable applicators, and electro-mechanical systems. He previously worked at Amphenol as New Product Strategy & Development Manager, and at Teradyne as Principal Engineer. During his tenure at Amphenol he also was an adjunct faculty member of the University of Massachusetts. He holds doctoral and master's degrees in Mechanical Engineering from MIT with a focus on thermal sciences and design, and received a bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer which included studies at the ETH in Zurich.

Rick Stein
Vice President of Business Development
Rick's career in business operations and management began in an entrepreneurial family environment as owner and operator of multiple businesses. Ricks passion for the business environment was continued in his education by following an academic path that earned him a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. Rick has continued to pursue his interest for small business operations after entering the field of medical device development and manufacturing for small to mid-size companies. He has specialized in management, new business development and client relations. Rick has worked with physicians, startup and established medical device companies, universities and research centers. Some examples include, Medtronic, St Jude Medical, Boston Scientific, Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, University of Chicago and Johns Hopkins University. Some of the medical fields include cardiology, orthopedics, and ophthalmology. Projects range from disposable medical equipment, patient monitoring equipment and implantable devices. Rick is actively involved in the medical device and bioscience community through the University of Minnesota's Engineering and Business programs, Life Science Alley (LSA) as a co-chair for the educational program, the BioBusiness Alliance of Minnesota and is a Member of the Medtech Resource Alliance (MRA).

Bob Parsons, MOL
Vice President of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs
Bob brings 20 years of experience in quality management and validation compliance in the FDA regulated medical device, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology industries. Bob's Quality experience includes enhancement and implementation of quality system programs, gap analysis, training, supplier auditing, internal quality auditing, audit responses and corrective action implementation. Validation experience includes qualification of computer systems, control systems, manufacturing processes, equipment, utilities and cleaning processes. Bob is an industry recognized expert in developing and implementing quality systems, validation, change control and competency based training programs.

Cathy Vold
Controller
Cathy's business career has developed through a number of positions in both public accounting and private industry. Prior to joining Devicix, she worked at a financial consulting firm, focusing on providing outsourced controller services to a variety of small business and non-profit organizations. Devicix was one of Cathy's consulting clients. She was so impressed by the commitment of Devicix to providing quality service to clients and a quality workplace for its employees that she joined our permanent staff as Controller in 2009.
Cathy is a CPA and has a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of North Dakota. She started her career at Arthur Andersen & Co in Minneapolis and also worked a number of years at a large, privately held, multinational company in a variety of accounting and analysis positions.
Cathy is married with 2 children and spends most of her free time enjoying her children's participation in a variety of extracurricular activities. As a graduate of UND, she is also an enthusiastic fan of fighting Sioux hockey.
Controller
Anil Asrani, MBA
Manager of Business Development
Anil brings Business, Market and Product Development expertise to Devicix. These skills were developed and honed at the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management where he graduated with an MBA in marketing with a medical industry specialization. Anil was the recipient of the following honors while at Carlson: Student of the Year, Carlson Scholar (top 10% of graduating class), and Curtis L Carlson Family Foundation Study Abroad Scholarship. As part of his medical industry specialization, Anil worked for numerous clients including: Medtronic, The Mayo Clinic, 3M, and United Health. Anil's professional background includes 10+ years of biomedical research experience at the Universities of Virginia and Minnesota. He is a published author in the fields of cellular and molecular biology where he has written on extracellular matrix proteins and HIV's host/virus interactions, respectively.
