Chris Szczech - Partner
Chris holds a Bachelor of Computer Engineering degree from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. He has over 17 years of product development experiences. For 6 years before founding Devicix, Chris was on the startup engineering team at Acist Medical Systems. He was responsible for the multiple processor firmware design of Acist's Cardiovascular injection system. Chris then moved into the position of Manager of Electrical Engineering, following later as the electrical lead in development of a contrast injector for CT applications.
Before entering into the medical device field, Chris developed designs for video security at Alarmex, where he wrote firmware for video surveillance domes and their networks, and electrical designs to support their systems. At Graco, Chris was responsible for the electrical and firmware design of a new high-power paint system utilizing custom brushless servo motors and controls.
The majority of Chris' early career (7 years) was spent in the motion control industry working for Technology 80, and Emerson Electronic Motion Controls, owned by Emerson Electric. At Tech-80, Chris focused on electrical design, completing 6 products over a 3.5 year period. His motion control systems were designed using several servo and step motor controllers and amplifiers. During his 4 years at Emerson, Chris developed firmware for advanced servo drives for industrial applications such as rotary knives and web-handling synchronization.
